Japan hails development of relations with Vietnam

The relationship between Japan and Vietnam has seen best ever developments in all fields, Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians League President Tsutomu Takebe has said.
 
In an article published in the “Japan Times” on the occasion of the 63 rd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2), President Takebe said he was deeply impressed with the Vietnam- Japan music festival conducted by the two countries’ artists in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in May this year.

He said he hoped that the relations between the two countries would continue enjoying deeper developments at both governmental and private levels.

President Takebe also wished Vietnam more development achievements.

The “Japan Times” also published a speech by Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh introducing Vietnam’s achievements over the past 63 years in socio-economic, political and diplomatic fields.

Regarding the Vietnam-Japan ties, Ambassador Binh said that Vietnam highly appreciated the relations over the past 35 years with Japan, which is one of the first countries decided to resume assistance for Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Economic Committee of Nippon Keidanren Susumu Kato stressed that over the past 20 years of “Doimoi,” Vietnam has gained important achievements in the socio-economic development.

Vietnam is the leading market in Southeast Asia at present, he said, adding that the new member of the World Trade Organisation, which has a hard-working and skilled labour force and a social and political stability, will attract more and more Japanese companies. (VNA)
