MGM Mirage: request to use manpower for Ho Tram Strip project

On September 19, the provincial People’s Committee had a meeting with MGM MIRAGE Corporation (America) (specializes in residential living, entertainment, resorts) on the situation of human resources in the province to recruit and train for Ho Tram Strip Resort Complex project area travel entertainment complex in Xuyen Moc district.

Mr Ivan Goh, MGM Mirage’s Deputy Chairman proposed the province to support professional technicians, cooks and security forces for the project. MGM Mirage also requested for guidelines of the province for employing labourers outside the province and foreign experts under the Labor Laws of Vietnam for the Ho Tram Strip project.

At the meeting, Mr. Ho Van Nien, Deputy Chairman of the province affirmed that the provincial People’s Committee does not hinder the investor in using labor force from outside the province and foreigner; however, encourage the investor to use local labourers and must have professional training program for this resource of labour.

Ho Tram Strip project with the total investment capital of USD4.2 billion invested by Asian Coast Development Ltd., started construction in May 2008.
