After duration of six month fabrication, on 26 May 2008, at VSP yard, Petroleum Equipment Assembly & Metal Structure Co.,Ltd (PVC-MS) and the EPC Contractor Vietsovpetro successfully loaded out the topside of Phuong Dong Oil Field invested by Japan Vietnam Petroleum Company (JVPC). This is the first oil rig platform installed and to exploit petroleum at Phuong Dong Field, locates in block 15-2, held 45% of shares and operated by JVPC.
Fabricating Phuong Dong topside was fully performed by Vietnamese personnel. This proved the specific advancement of oil and gas technical services of Vietnamese personnel. The project has been highly appreciated by the investor and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
