The Prime Minister on July 17 approved in principle a project to set up an oil and gas university in the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh.
The university will do the training at the order of PetroVietnam. Under the approval, PetroVietnam will provide information and demands for the Ministry of Education and Training to compile curriculum and hold training courses of different degrees and professions fit to the orders.
All the preparations for the establishment of the first ever oil and gas university in Vietnam will be done by the Ministry of Education and Training while the cost will be fully covered by PetroVietnam.
The petroleum group will also work with the Ministry of Education and Training in considering annual scholarships for talented students from other universities nationwide.
The Ministry of Education and Training will be responsible for a feasibility study on the project, which will have to be submitted to a responsible agency in line with law, ordered the PM. (VNA)
