The Industrial Zones Authority has just issued the Investment License for establishing Long Son Petrochemical Company Limited to implement the Southern Vietnam Petrochemical Complex project at Long Son Petroleum Industrial Zone, Long Son commune, Vung Tau City.
This is a joint venture among the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation (PetroVietnam), Vietnam National Chemical Corporation, Vina SCG Chemicals Company Limited, Thai Plastic and Chemicals Public Company Limited.
The Complex has 400ha area included expanding area. The Southern Vietnam PetroChemical Complex is a high capacity scale complex, which is integrated fully and firstly in Vietnam.
The project consists of upper, intermediary and lower technology complexes, of which to produce petrochemical products as Ethylen, Propylen, HDPE…
The total investment capital for the complex is USD 3.77 billion. The expected progress is separated into 6 phases and will be completed in the second quarter of 2013.
The complex will create more than 10,000 jobs in the construction phase and more than 1,500 jobs in the operation phase.
